TGIF! I don’t know about you, but after a busy week, I’m so looking forward to dinner at home and a couch and movie night! This might be our only night of R & R before a fun-filled Halloween weekend as we have a Family Halloween Party on Saturday night, another on Sunday and then next week some girlfriends are coming over for a little Halloween get-together. Today I’m going to give you a preview of what I’ve planned and share my tips for How to Host a Girl’s Night in for Halloween!

HOW TO HOST A GIRL’S NIGHT IN FOR HALLOWEEN

I love to entertain and what better time to grab girlfriends when you actually have an excuse in indulge in some sips and sweets. I’ve put together a chic tablescape perfect for a Halloween party with plenty of yummy treats and some sparkling beverages for you and the ladies to sip on!

SOMETHING TO SIP

When preparing for a party, it’s great to have a variety of beverages to serve especially if you don’t know your guests extremely well and aren’t sure what they prefer to drink. If you know your crew’s beverage-of-choice, then it’s perfectly fine to keep things simple.

When my friends at 90+ Cellars offered to send me a few bottles to serve at my upcoming Halloween Girls’ Night In Party, I knew Prosecco would be the perfect option because all of my girlfriends are fans!

I also like to have decanters of ice water set-up so people can help themselves throughout the evening. And since the Prosecco is being served in my champagne glasses, I set out a stack of cute “Drink Up, Witches” cups to use for the water.

No need for an ice bucket, I’ve got a pumpkin for that! T was enough nice enough to carve one out to fill with ice and stick a bottle in to keep it chilled. It took less than 10 minutes and was super easy. I mean, it looked like an easy task from where I was sitting 😉

PLENTY OF SWEETS

I have this one covered! Candy is definitely not just for kids, especially at Halloween! Fill glass apothecary vases with different candies and chocolates so guests can grab a few…and a few more….and a few more. I always keep back-up on reserve in the pantry in case the supply needs to be replenished. Here I have Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Caramel Kisses and a mix of chocolate chip and triple chocolate cookies.

I also filled a couple of plates to go on my plate stand with mini apple pies and Pumpkin Oreos which are both veeeerrry seasonally appropriate! 😉

A TOUCH OF SAVORY

I made it clear that this would be a nibble on candy kind of party, so my guests won’t be expecting a meal or even heavy appetizers, I do have a popcorn mix set out in case anyone needs a hint of salt. Cheese popcorn always does the trick and have it here mixed with caramel corn and kettle corn.

SPECIAL CENTERPIECE

Fresh flowers are a sure way to amp up the welcoming vibe and are an instant mood booster. As a guest, it feels nice to know your hostess took the time to pick up some flowers and set them out in a vase or maybe even clipped some from the yard. The flowers don’t have to be expensive and a bouquet can even be broken up in 2 or 3 smaller bouquets and used throughout your table and home.

Here I simply bought a bouquet of 3 white hydrangeas and 2 bouquets of fillers – eucalyptus and baby’s breath. When I got them all home, I separated them all and then added them to my vase alternating each type. Then I stuck in a few black rose bunches from Dollar Tree and finally, added a gold glitter Christmas pick from Hobby Lobby. I did call this a Chic Halloween Girl’s Night in after all!

SET THE MOOD

Candles, candles, candles! You can never have enough! I decided to grab a variety of my candle holders from around the house [most of which are thrifted] and then added black and white tapers and a couple pillar candles to the larger candleholders. I even plopped a decorative pumpkin on one of the candle holders, similar to how I did on my Halloween Mantel last year, because I didn’t have a candle that size!

Simply lighting a few candles and dimming the lights instantly sets the mood and creates an ambiance of warmth and coziness – perfect for gabbing with girlfriends over sweets and Prosecco!

Turn up the tunes! I also love to have music on while entertaining. We love our Sonos System and have added devices to our Family Room, Master Bathroom and Playroom. We currently have our Amazon Tap in the Dining Room. Alexa is the absolute BEST for helping us keep our playlist going strong all night!

LITTLE LABELS & FUN DECOR

The rest of my Chic Halloween table is filled with pumpkins [real and faux], glittery spiders & masquerade masks [both from Dollar Tree], cute little witch hat and witch boots table scatter sprinkled around and a few mini chalkboard labels on stands – perfect to set out in front of your food and drink areas.

I also found spiderweb placemats to stagger across the table and down the middle on top of my tablecloth and runner, I added these gorgeous black and coppery orange sequin placemats. They are like those “mermaid” pillows where when you drag your finger across it flips the sequins over to the other color.

The “Hello Fall” napkins were a $1 Spot find at Target and the gold skull plates were a HomeGoods score for only $7! The gold flatware, DIY striped runner, polka dot tablecloth, and white and black plates I had on-hand.

Many of these Halloween items are already on sale, so head out and pick some up this weekend. Or snag them quickly online. Shopping for seasonal and holiday decor after that holiday is over is a great time to stock up for the next year.

Sometimes the retailers mark things down by 90% in the days following!

Even the smallest touches like cute drinking straws, table confetti, pretty drinkware and dishes can go a long way. Tasty treats are never a bad idea either!

Use what you have and shop the sales to plan ahead for next year’s party!

I had so much fun layering up my table and adding all sorts of sparkling sips, yummy sweets and chic decor for my Chic Halloween Sips & Sweets Girls’ Night In! And if you’re like me, you’ve already been dipping into the Halloween sweets for awhile now. Must. Stop. Buying. Halloween. Candy. So. Early!
