The air is crisp and my Fall table is set! One of my favorite rooms to spiff up each season is the dining room. One reason is because it got a complete overhaul last Fall for the One Room Challenge, so it’s pretty much the only space that I’ve been able to deck out from floor to ceiling with fixtures, furniture and finishes of my choosing. The second reason is because… bar carts! Today I’m sharing my Burnt Orange and Berry Fall Tablescape that all started with $.70 placemats. Yep – inspiration struck in the clearance aisle! You’ll also get quite a few peeks at my recently styled Fall bar cart with a super simplistic approach. More on that to come! Continue reading
He-llo out there! Yes, it’s been a little bit since you’ve heard from me, but rest easy. Not only am I back with a new post, but today I’m sharing another project in our new monthly My Dollar Store DIY challenge! You can see March’s DIY dollar store project here. Our theme for the month of April is Spring-inspired florals / greenery and of course we are using supplies from our local dollar stores to create it! I know you are going to love the fresh & fabulous ideas that each participant came up with this month, so be sure to stick around to the end to see their projects. Continue reading
I kid you not. There was still glitter and metallic foil confetti in the cracks of our dining room table from Christmas when I went to spruce it up for Spring! After a(nother) good wipe down, a few new table linens, some thrifted finds and my go-to dinnerware and flatware, the table was looking oh-so-fresh again! Continue reading
While tulips fill the house, snow has buried the toys in the back yard that the boys left out when it was 70 degrees less than 2 weeks ago!! Yeah, so Spring is NOWHERE to be found here in Chicagoland, but with a few simple spring touches our home is feeling warm, bright and well, spring-y! I didn’t do much decorating for the season this year, but I did spruce up the dining room, where the bar cart sits and I’m sharing that little part with you today! You’ll get to see the dining room table all dressed up for Spring in the next week or so 😉 Continue reading
Hey there, guys! I’m super thrilled to be sharing today’s post with you! Since ya’ll seem to go crazy for styling posts around here AND you know about my un-tamable love [ok, let’s call it what it is – my obsession] for throw pillows, I’m going to show you how to style a sofa with 2 different looks! The other fabulous part about today’s post is I’m joining an amazing group of bloggers who are also dishing on their sofa styling tips, how to get the look, sources and more! So be sure to scroll to the end of the post to check out the others’ sofa scoop!
All of the decking is DONE! And I’m so excited to welcome you in for the first peak of our Merry & Metallic Christmas Home today! If you are joining me from the 12 Days of Holiday Homes Tour, then welcome! Today marks the 5th Day of the tour, hosted by Evolution of Style and 11 Magnolia Lane! I’m so honored to be part of this lovely group of incredibly talented bloggers sharing their inspirational holiday homes!
Today, I’m going to invite you in to see my Merry & Metallic Christmas Living Room. As for the rest of the house, I’ll be sharing several other spaces over the course of the week, so please come back to see the rest!! But for now, come on in…
Slow & steady wins the race. Or is it, last one to finish is still a winner?! Either way, I know Halloween is less than 1 week away, but I just HAD to do a little last-minute decorating. We’ve had our fall decor out since the first week of September, but I find it VERY difficult to muster up the energy to take it all down and trade everything out for Halloween decor. Right?! Even as a blogger, when holiday decorating is serious business, I just can’t ever gear up to make something halfway presentable.
Until this year. Less than 1 week from Halloween. We have a super simple [and super cute!] Halloween mantel! Continue reading
Hi, friends! I’m absolutely loving the coolish fall temps we’ve had in Chicagoland over the last few days. I think I’m even going to turn the fireplace on tonight [one of my very favorite things to do now through March]! I hope you enjoyed peeking inside our home last week when I shared my fall home tour on Friday. The amount of work that goes into getting the house ready to be photographed is all worth it when it’s over because then house is fully ready to enjoy as a family and host and entertain in with friends!
Today, I’m sharing a few more shots of the tablescape you saw in the fall tour and a few tips for how to create a simple, casual Fall tablescape…one that has a warm and welcoming Fall vibe to it! My table is full of texture, patterns and a mix of metals — all of which ring pretty true to my style. Don’t you agree?! Continue reading
Hello and welcome! If you are stopping by today from Amber Oliver, I am thrilled to have you! Two things have me uber excited today. 1 – I am sharing our brand new accent wall in the master bedroom [which is truthfully one of the first nearly finished spaces in our new house] and 2 – I’m joining 19 other bloggers this week who are also sharing wall treatment ideas for bonus inspiration! The bedroom wall was honestly finished in the knick of time to be able to participate in this fabulous blog hop hosted by Jenna of Rain on a Tin Roof. She rounded up some of her modern/eclectic friends to be able to show you all there ARE other ways to create an accent wall OTHER than shiplap. There is absolutely nothing wrong with shiplap walls, but they are EV-ER-Y-WHERE right now because of Joanna Gaines’ and “Fixer Upper”.
If shiplap is your jam, then roll with it. But if you are looking for alternative, less farmhouse-y ideas, then we are here for YOU!
My style calls for a wall that’s a bit more bold…with a touch of chic. Continue reading
Hey guys! It’s been a little while, huh? I hope you all had a wonderful long fourth of July weekend. We are back home and I’m getting back to business on the blog! Today, I’m going to share my tips for how to set a simple Summer Table. Yes, creating a lovely table – the easy way! I adore a beautifully embellished table and an ornate place setting, but let’s be real. There just isn’t time for all the frills and fuss! I mean, creating a super fancy tablescape for each holiday or change of the season would be waaaay too much work. It’s a wonderful thought, but just not realistic, especially for the stage of life I’m currently in. #littleonesarewildones Continue reading
