A Tulips & Tapers Spring Tablescape

I kid you not. There was still glitter and metallic foil confetti in the cracks of our dining room table from Christmas when I went to spruce it up for Spring! After a(nother) good wipe down, a few new table linens, some thrifted finds and my go-to dinnerware and flatware, the table was looking oh-so-fresh again! Continue reading

The 4 C’s Method for Organizing Any Space in Your Home

Organizational guru. Nope, not me. Not by a long shot. I have learned, however, that when you spend a little bit of time up front to create a functional, organized space in your home, it pays off in the long run. Today, I’m sharing a simple method I came up with to use when I muster up the courage to tackle an organization project. Because it sure does take courage, doesn’t it?! I’m calling it The 4 C’s Method for Organizing Any Space in your Home. Brenna from Domestic Charm rounded up a fabulous group of bloggers who’ve been spilling their tips and tricks all week to help us get and STAY organized this year, so be sure to stick around until the end to check out what everyone has up their sleeve this January! A Merry & Metallic Christmas Home | The Family Room | Pink Door Holiday Tour 2016

Hello and welcome to Part 2 of my Merry and Metallic Christmas Home Tour! Today, I’m sharing our Christmas Family Room as part of the Pink Door Holiday Tour hosted by All Things Big and Small. I’m going to refer to this part of our Christmas home as the cozy and warm side!

If you joined me here yesterday, you viewed our Merry & Metallic Christmas Living Room — filled with bright metallics, light whites, dark blacks and an overall blingy and festive space. Like a party room! Well, today, I’m cranking up the heat to show you the warm and cozy space where we truly do “FAMILY” all day, all night in here. From Paw Patrol marathons, to snack-time on a “picnic blanket” to movie nights and Netflix binges or just settling in after dinner with friends and family to hang out. We dance, we play, we sing and snuggle in this space.

At Christmastime, this is the room where are stockings are hung, the main Christmas tree stands and the fire crackles. The hot cocoa is always flowing [or a merry cocktail!] and the boys’ Christmas visions of Santa Claus coming down the chimney come to life. Continue reading

DIY Foil Confetti & Pom-Pom Filled Lightbulb Ornament

Is it seriously December already?! How did this happen? Since it’s officially acceptable to talk all things Christmas now that Thanksgiving is behind us, I have a real treat for you today. Actually 15 of them. I’ve had DIY Christmas decor ideas brewing all year long and when Ariel from PMQ for Two announced she was hosting an Eclectic Ornaments of Christmas Hop, I knew this would be a great reason to bring one of these ideas to life in an ornament fashion.

To be completely honest, I originally planned and attempted to execute a different ornament idea, but well, I fell flat and came up short. I just wasn’t going to be able to pull it off, so alas, this idea was born. Today, I’m sharing my DIY foil-confetti-mini-pom-pom-faux-snow-filled-light-bulb ornament. GASP! Did you catch all that?! If not, we can just refer to it as the “fun-filled” light bulb ornament. Because what’s not fun about metallic silver, gold foil, teeny tiny pom-poms and itty bitty snow balls?! Continue reading

Summer Home Tour 2016 | One Final Zhush

Hello! And welcome! You guys – I have been anxiously awaiting today for a little while now. It’s time to share my Summer Home as part of the Eclectic Summer Home Tour Blog Hop hosted by Jess of Domicile 37! It might not seem like a big deal. I mean, I do decorate and re-decorate on the daily and post bits and pieces along the way, but today is not just any home tour. It’s actually the very last home tour I’ll be able to share with you guys in this house. Yes, our move date is quickly approaching and while I should have been purging and organizing our things in preparation, I couldn’t help but get carried away in giving our home one last zhush.

And a bold, colorful summery zhush I might add 😉

I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to pull this together in time for this week of Tours, but I thought – hey, its eclectic so anything goes, right?!

So step right up as I take you from the front porch and all the way through the main level of our house one final time. Continue reading

A Little of This + A Little Bit of Bliss Vol. 3 [bloggy stuff]

Hey there! I’m popping in briefly today to give you a glimpse into what’s to come on the blog over the next couple of weeks. Although I had a fabulous vacation earlier this month, being away from home [projects and the blog] creates some backlog and I’ve been trying to get caught up and back on track, along with jumping back into the hustle bustle of life with little guys! Trips allow us a chance to relax and remind us how important it is to slow down every now and then, buuuuut then getting back home feels like you’re treading water for a few days and desperately need someone to throw you a life raft. Or wait for the weekend. whichever comes first!

Here’s a rundown of what’s goin’ on over here! Continue reading

My Home Style Christmas Tree Edition | Bold Neutral Glam

When it comes to decorating our home, my style can pretty much be summed up in 3 simple words: bold, neutral and glam. When it comes to trimming the tree, I don’t venture too far outside my comfort zone with the exception of the use of the color red! If you take a look around here during any month besides December, red can only be found in 2 places – the playroom and in my wine glass. no joke. I truly prefer a neutral color pallette with bold, distinctive prints and patterns with a hefty side of glitz and glam. #metallicsaremyjam

Today, I am breaking down the elements of our lovely Living Room tree for the My Home Style Blog Hop Christmas: Tree Edition hosted by Casa Watkins! If you are stopping over from My Life From Home, welcome!! A group of home decor & DIY bloggers have joined forces to celebrate style…style in the home and in the spirit of the season, style found in our Christmas trees!

Now let’s take a peek at this Bold Neutral Glam Christmas Tree, shall we?
my home style christmas tree edition collage - bold neutral glam - thisisourbliss.comHere is how my tree came to life!

Since pattern play is one of my favorite ways to incorporate a variety of prints, I am usually inspired by a fabulous fabric, typically in the form of a pillow, but for the tree I was inspired by both fabric and wrapping paper.

It's raining outside, the boys are awake but miraculously quiet & calm... So, I'm having a #holiday #crafternoon & in case you were wondering, Pandora is set to "Mariah Carey Holiday #canthelpit #cantwaittodecorate #targetchristmas #christmas2015 #stripes

I’ll admit, I am a bit of a wrapping paper hoarder collector. Those rolls always find a way to jump into my shopping cart year-round, so by the time the holidays are upon us, I have a pretty hefty stash.
easy christmas decor - wrapped coffee table books supplies - This is our BlissI will always love a class black and white stripe and in my opinion, you just can’t go wrong with animal print. The black, white, tan and gold triangle geo print seemed fun and well…bold, neutral and glam, so it came home with me, too. The red plaid paper above was a great find. I had been searching for red plaids that didn’t have any green in them and it was tough! I lucked out with that roll from Michaels!

Another plaid you’ll see around the house this time of the year are my Amazon plaid napkins which I turned into pillows AND used on my Christmas table! I couldn’t resist after whipping up a couple napkin pillows up for fall.

Now, back to the tree…
My Home Style Christmas tree edition - bold neutral glam - gold sequin tree picks - thisisourbliss.comI have gold everywhere and bits of silver, black, white and red sprinkled throughout. These gold sequin tree pics added the perfect amount of funk and dimension. I used those inspiration papers A LOT.

and IN the tree! What can I say? I mean, a girl’s gotta coordinate, right??!
my home style blog hop - christmas tree edition - leopard and stripe bow - thisisourbliss.comI even made a mini bow to go under our silver star. It’s actually the same tree topper we’ve had since our first Christmas tree when we were still dating; I can’t bear to part with it! Since I’ve mixed metals throughout the tree and it IS made of sequins and all, it can stay 😉
