Happenings Around the House

Monday is here and it’s an odd one for me.  My almost 2 year old is not running rampant around the house!  After we got home from the hospital with Simon, my husband took another week off of work and then last Sunday, my mom came to town to stay during my husband’s first week back to work.  She left over this past weekend and took Henry back to Iowa with her!  The goal was to have a 3rd week of help by allowing us to spend time with Simon and get some rest during the day while the baby sleeps without Henry keeping us so busy.  Newborns are exhausting because of being woken up in the night, but toddlers are just as tiring because they are on the move from sun up to sun down!  Needless to say its a little quiet around here today 🙂

I do plan to rest up this week, but I also have tons of projects I would love to start and several old ones to finish!  This week is a great opportunity to have a few uninterrupted hours here and there.

Today I thought I would share a few things that are in the works around here…

What else?

A few other spaces being worked on: downstairs guest bath (new paint color), formal living room (new ceiling light – post coming soon & on the hunt for a new chair) and the biggie!… we are in the midst of having all of our wood trim painted white!  It was quite the undertaking… aka my husband decided one day while he was home with us during his week of paternity leave that he would start painting our trim.  I have wanted white trim since we moved in 2 years ago and he was never onboard with it.  I somehow convinced him to have it done, but he thought he would give it a shot himself.  2 days later, we had 1 room and half of our front entryway done.  At that point I said, let’s get a professional in here to finish up.  He agreed he wasn’t going to have the time to do it, but he wasn’t exactly thrilled about paying someone to finish a project we hadn’t really planned to do or budgeted for!! We got a couple quotes & went with one of them as he was pretty decently priced. He is here finishing up as I’m writing!

Lots of posts, and of course pictures, are on their way!  Stop back to see what progress has been made.

One last thing, I shared Simon’s Nursery Reveal with The Best of the Nest Link Party  for the month of May hosted by 4 amazing bloggers.  I was so honored to be one of their Features for the month of May!
