Pretty in Plaid Christmas Living Room

Pretty in Plaid Christmas Living Room - subtle pops of red among all the metallics!

More red? Yes, please! Today, I’m sharing my third space all spiffed and spruced for Christmas – the Living Room, as part of the Twelve Days of Holiday Homes Tour hosted by Evolution of Style and 11 Magnolia Lane. Once I started pulling out all the red things a couple weeks ago, I knew it would inevitably end up spilling over into each room. My Pretty in Plaid Christmas Living Room has just enough red to feel traditional, while all the gold feels fresh, modern and mega-glam!

Come on in and have a look around!

The plaid ended up in here when I realized I had just enough wide plaid ribbon left over from my triple wreath hangings you saw yesterday in the Dining Room, to twist and let drape down the Living Room tree.

Next, I layered lots of gold, silver, copper and bronze ornaments with some red ones sprinkled in between…several sparkly gold picks stuck in the top and that was pretty much the tree!

I kept the rest of the decor to a minimum, by only filling the coffee table and a few spots on the bookshelf with Christmas items. The garland is simply draped over the top shelf with a light strand and felt ball garland woven in and around it.

And the table? Well, I grabbed my large animal print ornaments and filled up a gold geometric bowl to create a bit of a leopard moment. Because…………why not?!

A few metallic trees, a trio of nutcrackers and a couple of crystal candlesticks create the rest of the vignette.

Oh and that plaid pillow made an appearance in our Christmas Family Room a couple year’s back and you might recognize the napkins from this Christmas table! I love making pillows out of cloth napkins…basically sew all 3 sides with a zipper on the 4th! Such an easy and inexpensive way to switch out your throw pillows. Plus storing pillow covers is a lot better than storing full pillows. Your storage space fills up quickly…trust me.

Real life…I have zero gifts wrapped, so you see zero gifts under the tree! But my metallic tree skirt sure does shimmer and shine!!

There really is nothing better than the smell of a fresh Christmas wreath and this gorgeous wreath so generously given to me by Lynch Creek Farms is no exception! It smells wonderful and the beautiful red and gold ornaments and mini packages are the perfect trimmings alongside the classic red velvet BOW!
