Friday Fab Finds Vol. 4

Friday Fab Finds - Summer Style and Beauty - This is our Bliss

Happy Friday and start of the long holiday weekend, friends! I don’t know about you, but although we have another week left of school, my brain is focused on all things summer [well, and baby :)] right now. The official Opening Day pool party is this coming Monday, but the pool is actually opening up this afternoon and I’ve already packed our bags and we’re ready to go. I thought I would pop in and share a few of my summer essentials that will be staples in our pool bag this summer along with a few other goodies I’ve come across lately. Read on for another edition of my Friday Fab Finds!

Although it’s not all summer gear, these items are recent finds or favorites that I’ve started to reach for time and time again now that the weather has shaped up! Hello, sun hats and summer sunnies!

Friday Fab Finds - Summer Style and Beauty - This is our Bliss

SUN HAT | BOOK | STRIPED POUCH | GOLD PINEAPPLE SHOT GLASS | TORTOISE BEAUTY BRUSH | AVIATOR SUNGLASSES

You may remember this sun hat from when I showed you how I made a DIY removable striped pom pom trim / band for it. I rocked the hat this Spring and now that I have THREE interchangable bands for it, you can bet I’ll be sporting it all summer, too!

DIY Pom Pom Beach hat trim made with Dollar Tree supplies - My Dollar Store DIY - This is our Bliss

You can obviously pick up any sun hat to make a DIY band for, but this one has the cutest hot pink embroidered message on the inside!!

I first found this blush pink book when I was sourcing decor to help zhush up my Living Room for Spring.

Remember my moment with blush a couple months back? Well, I haven’t changed out the pillows yet because… well, I’m still loving the pale pink! Love Style & Life is the perfect subtle pop of pink on my living room coffee table and when I’m ready to rotate it out, I think it will go on the nightstand in our master bedroom. You can see all the pink and green I added to our room when I recently did a quick & simple refresh on the nightstands and bed!

The striped zippered pouch is a year-round staple [in fact, I filled it with goodies & a Starbucks gift card for Teacher holiday gifts last year], but it’s a great travel pouch, pool bag accessory or sunglasses case! I keep my lip balm, small bottle of sunscreen, sunnies, and any cash or credit cards I might need. Plus it comes in several other cute prints and patterns — my other faves are the camo print and floral one!! Take a peek – they are darling 🙂

I’ve had these brass pineapple shot glasses for awhile now and they always make a come-back to the bar cart this time of year. They are a pretty little gold summer accessory whether you open them and fill them up or not! I actually used them for styling my kitchen cabinets when we revamped our Kitchen earlier this year [see the Kitchen Reveal here]. I found mine online at Macy’s but it looks like Target and Amazon have similar options!

Wanna know a little secret?! Well, the fine lines, wrinkles and pregnancy spots have arrived and to combat them, I’ve found that by switching up my foundation brush, I’m getting better, smoother coverage on my face. Check out this electronic, anti-microbial beauty brush that comes in multiples colors, although I’m still loving my tortoise print! It’s available here and here, so take a peek. You might even be able to snag it on sale this Memorial Day weekend.

There aren’t too many things I consider to be a classic summer staple, but Ray Ban aviator sunglasses just might be one of them! I’ve had this pair for years and while I haven’t had the best luck caring for [or not losing!] my nice sunglasses, this pair has stood the test of time. You just can’t go wrong with the style and quality! Although after losing a couple nice pairs of sunnies, maybe I should do a round-up of inexpensive knock-off sunglasses – like $50 and under! Stay tuned… I may have that coming your way this summer!

I hope you enjoyed this edition of Friday Fab Finds – I’ll try to get a few more of these going. Any ideas or suggestions on what you’d like me to round-up next?!

It was fun hanging out today, but I’m signing off until next week. I’ve got some relaxing and hanging with my crew to do at the pool. The weather is going to be absolutely phenomenal this weekend here in Chicagoland! Woo hoo! I hope you have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend wherever you are!
