Easy Egg Salad Recipe I Constantly Crave

Classic Egg Salad Recipe for Spring - This is our Bliss

A yummy, classic recipe that my family has loved for YEARS!  My dad makes a mean egg salad and while he’s never fully disclosed his secret recipe, I decided it was time to put a pen to paper while I was making it myself using all of his go-to ingredients! And what better time than now to use up all those groceries! If you’re like us, you’ve got several dozens of eggs in the fridge right now! Today, I’m sharing my Easy Egg Salad Recipe I Constantly Crave!

Growing up, my Dad always loved to be in the kitchen and one of my very favorite things he made is egg salad. I used to love it SO much, that when I would come home for a visit while away at college, he would make me my very own batch and label the container in the fridge with my name on a post-it-note for me.

He knew I wouldn’t want to share!

After years and years of concocting my own batches of egg salad, using the ingredients I learned from watching him, I thought it was time I created an actual recipe with the proper measurements to give it the taste we’ve all known and loved!

I’m joining Krista of The Happy Housie and several blogger friends in a Spring Recipe hop today for the Season Simplicity Series! After you’re done here, be sure to “hop around” and check out everyone else’s delicious Spring Recipes.

Easy & Delicious Egg Salad Recipe - Classic Spring Recipe - This is our Bliss

And now for my Easy and Delicious Egg Salad Recipe.

Because what better time to make Egg Salad than during the season of all things Eggs!

It’s creamy and delicious with excellent flavor. Especially if you love a hint of sweet and a dash of heat!

EASY EGG SALAD RECIPE I CONSTANTLY CRAVE

Easy and delicious Classic Egg Salad Recipe - This is our Bliss

EASY EGG SALAD INGREDIENTS

  • 12 eggs, hard boiled
  • 3/4 cup miracle whip
  • 1/4 tsp of each of the following – salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder
  • 1 tsp of mustard
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • dash of hot sauce [I use Tabasco or Cholula]
  • Chives or green onions to garnish
  • crackers, pretzels, bread bagels or buns to serve

EASY EGG SALAD DIRECTIONS

1 || Bring a dozen eggs to a boil on the stovetop. Let simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes to ensure the eggs are fully cooked.

2 || Let cool and remove egg shell when cool enough to touch.

3 || Chop the eggs into small pieces and place in mixing bowl.

4 || Next, add miracle whip, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, sugar, mustard & hot sauce and combine until thoroughly mixed.

5 || Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

6|| Place in a bowl [I love this one for dips] and add chives or fresh green onion on top for garnish and serve with crackers or pretzels.

What I love about this salad is you can serve and eat it in a variety of ways. We love to dip our pretzel crisps and crackers in it, but I enjoy it equally as much on a toasted bagel or a Hawaiian roll, pretzel bun or even just spread on a piece of toast!

I’ve put it inside a flour tortilla and made egg salad wraps or topped it on a bed of lettuce for a simple Egg Salad.

I’d be lying if I said we don’t usually end up digging into the bowl with a fork or spoon before it makes it to the refrigerator!

I love to make a big batch of egg salad to enjoy throughout the week or when I need to use up my eggs.

When I do, I secretly hope to see my name on that sticky note when I open the fridge so everyone else stays out of the bowl!

It’s also an excellent item to serve for brunch or lunch – think Mother’s Day, Easter, etc.

Spring is the perfect time to enjoy this easy and delicious Egg Salad!

And Dad, if you’re reading…I hope you approve!
