3 Simple Summer Outfit Ideas || Casual Chic Style Vol. 9

The start of Summer is always signaled by the end of the school year, longer days and warmer temperatures. And I think we’ve reached all 3! Now that we’re slowly starting to get out and about with a little more freedom, I thought I would share a few recent additions to my closet in hopes to help inspire you to start piecing together some warm weather looks for yourself! Today, I’m sharing 3 Simple Summer Outfit Ideas in the Casual Chic Style Vol. 9.

Last year, I started the Casual Chic Style series as a way to share flatlays of outfits I’d put together or recently worn. While I’ve been sharing a ton of style posts this year, I realized I had stopped creating flatlays and I’ve missed it!

For me it’s a creative process, but also a quick way to see how pieces look styled together – top, bottoms, shoes and accessories!

An entire look laid out in front of you is super helpful when stepping into your own closet to get dressed or when packing for vacation or weekend getaway.

And not only are the pieces in today’s post casual AND chic, but they’re also extremely versatile. They can be dressed up or down!

SIMPLE SUMMER OUTFIT IDEA #1 || TIGER TEE & JEAN SHORTS

The graphic tee trend is still going strong and I love the colors in this tiger t-shirt. Its a dark gray shirt made out of soft, stretchy material and runs TTS [I’m in a small].

Wear it with denim shorts for a low key look or pair it with a maxi or mid skirt for a slightly dressier look!

These sandals are my absolute favorite pair from last Summer and I’m so happy they’re still around this year! They are part glam, part edgy and totally neutral!

The perfect way to finish off your basic tee and denim shorts outfit.

And you know this leopard straw bag is a Summer staple over here! I’ve shared it several times in The Friday Five series and in my Latest Obsessions.

It honestly looks cute with everything 😉

2 delicate necklaces – the small horn and mini coin pendant – are worn together for a simple layered look. And this chunky coin bracelet is a great addition to your wrist.

If you live in the Midwest you know the evenings can really cool down! Even in the Summer months! I love the idea of a lightweight crochet sweater paired with a pair of distressed denim shorts.

The sweater is so pretty! Slightly oversized, but not in the length. With a slight front tuck, it can be worn effortlessly with shorts or jeans. I think it would look great with your favorite pair of white jeans – skinny, cropped or ankle straight!

Here it’s shown with these black distressed denim shorts [I have size 6] and I love that they are between black and gray in color. If you want a slightly longer inseam, these are a great option!

These leopard bow sandals are such a fun neutral shoe with a little flair and are under $20. I’ll be wearing these into Fall, for sure. This pair could be swapped in with this outfit too!

A unique black & rose gold medallion necklace on your neck and a stack of bracelets on your wrist!

And these tortoise sunglasses are one of my top sunglasses finds from Amazon. 

They look great on all faces and are under $15 😉

If you don’t have a basic black romper, then run and grab this now! It’s $22 and runs TTS [I have a size small]. It can take you from day to night in an instant! So comfortable, it feels like you’re wearing pj’s 😉

Simply swap out your sneakers or flip flops for dressier sandals [these tan & gold ones are casual, but the metallic takes them up a notch!] or a wedge [love this pair & these, too], add a few accessories [layered necklaces are so easy to pull off] and a denim jacket and you’re out the door.

Think errands or pool cover-up to family bbq or date night. It really is a super versatile Summer staple!

3 totally easy outfits that can be worn just as seen above or slightly tweaked for a dialed down or turned up version. It all depends on where you’re off to!
