DIY Dollar Store Blue and White Striped Patriotic Planter Pot

With Memorial Day not too far behind us in the rear view mirror, I feel like the season of patriotic celebrations are in full force now through the 4th of July! I’m here today with a DIY as easy as pie! It’s the last Thursday of the month which means another My Dollar Store DIY edition alongside a few of my blogger friends. This month we are all getting our Red, White and Blue on and I’ve created a DIY Dollar Store Blue and White Striped Patriotic Planter Pot to share with you!

This cute little striped planter was so quick and easy, it’s almost silly to call this a tutorial, but here I go!

SUPPLIES

blue planter pot [Dollar Tree]
white duct tape
scissors
red geraniums [Lowes]
red, white and blue tinsel pom pom pick [Dollar Tree]

DIRECTIONS

Measure the height of your pot. Add about 6 inches to that length and then cut your duct tape to that size. Next, cut the piece of duct tape in half length-wise. You now have 2 “stripes” ready to go. 

Start by inserting 3 inches of the tape on the inside and then fold over and press down along the front of the planter pot.  Fold and crease the tape under the bottom of the pot to secure it. 

Space your next piece of tape about 1 to 1.5 inches away and repeat the process until you’ve made your way around the entire planter pot.

Finally, plant your geraniums, put your patriotic pick in the middle and you’re ready to roll! 

I think this DIY blue and white striped patriotic planter pot would be the perfect addition to your front porch, back patio, deck or simply as a centerpiece on your outdoor dining table.
