A Simply Neutral Christmas Dining Room

Simply Neutral Christmas Dining Room tour - elegant white and gold Christmas table - This is our Bliss

Hello and happy first day of December! Today is my first Christmas Tour of the season! Gosh it’s crazy how quickly the holidays sneak up each year. Especially this year – on one hand it feels like Christmas was last week and on the other hand it was a decade ago. Oh, 2020! The chaos that lives inside these walls everyday is beyond [2 full-time e-learners, a toddler and my new co-worker :)] , but I did manage to get my 2 trees out and my Dining Room dressed for the Holidays. Come and see our Simply Neutral Christmas Dining Room!

I’m so thankful to Evolution of Style and 11 Magnolia Lane for another invite to the Holiday Tour of Homes!

Holiday Home Tour 2020 All bloggers

Each day this week, a small group of bloggers are sharing a specific room in their home and today we are all sharing Dining Rooms / Entries.

Be sure to stick around to see the rest of the tours being shared today as well as throughout the week.

If you’re stopping over from Marty @ A Stroll Through Life, then welcome!

A SIMPLY NEUTRAL CHRISTMAS DINING ROOM

Christmas Dining Room - Simply Neutral - This is our Bliss

I’ve always loved setting a table and while things are much more casual and low-key these days, I couldn’t resist sprucing up the dining room for the season.

This room once served as home school headquarters back in the Spring, but once we learned they were going to be remote in the Fall, too I set them up at desks in various locations and reclaimed my space.

With the rollercoaster ride we’ve all been on, I think a special holiday meal in here as a family is exactly what I want this year. Heck, we may even do carry-out, but at least we’ll have pretty napkins 😉 All 3 boys loved feasting on their turkey and mashed potatoes in here last week, so I think they’ll love it just as much at Christmas!

Below you’ll see how the Dining Room came together this year.

WHITE & GOLD PLACESETTINGS

Simple and elegant. You can’t go wrong with all white and a touch of glam in my book!

I had most of the items you see on the table, but I did pick up these gold “MERRY” napkin ring holders and these striped napkins. Everything else was gathered by shopping my house.

Oh, except for these flickering flameless LED taper candles! They might be one of my favorite items on the table. Kid-friendly, look incredibly real and can be controlled by a remote control. A great option for your mantel if you have a TV above it like we do. I might be purchasing another set to use there!

ROSES & EUCALYPTUS AS A CENTERPIECE

I picked up some white roses and fresh eucalyptus at Trader Joe’s and thought they would make a pretty centerpiece if combined. I love the free flowing greens coming out of a vase of classic roses!

SIMPLE DIY PLACECARDS

When I say simple, I mean SIMPLE.

I can hardly call these a DIY because they only took 5 minutes and cost $1 each! The boys helped, too. I’ll share the simple details soon!

I’ve made a few other decorative items for our Christmas tablescapes of years’ past and you can find the DIY Christmas décor here.

A COUPLE OF FRESH WREATHS

Fresh wreaths with pinecones also from Trader Joes on my sconces! I grabbed some black ribbon and hung them up to add a natural element to the otherwise all white & gold space.

A FESTIVE BAR CART

Christmas Bar Cart - This is our Bliss

I decided to keep the bar cart styling simple with a few staggered embellished trees and a simple red & white wine set-up. These are my go-to wine glasses and you may remember them from my recent Favorite Things post

I’m also a Pinot Noir lover and rounded up some of my favorites under $25 in this post here. Spoiler alert: Meiomi is my all-time favorite!

We have a ton of decorative trees, so thought a few larger ones on the bar cart might be pretty. This one is new and only $5 and the rest we’ve had for years. Some of them usually end up on my Christmas mantel each year.

The lighted tree is old, but I found a really sweet similar one here.

And that pretty much rounds out our Christmas Dining Room Tour!!

I love that this space is one that houses us all together over a meal. We’ve had lots of togetherness in 2020 ha, but in all seriousness I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m so incredibly thankful for our health and happiness and can’t wait to continue to enjoy the holiday season together as a family! And eventually all end up gathered around this table!
