Stylish Buffets & Sideboards for Your Dining Room

Hey, hey! I am back with an update on the New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge! Today officially marks Week 2 of the Challenge which typically means I’m over here playing the waiting game. Decisions have been made and products have been ordered, but nothing is here yet! I thought I would take a minute to share some gorgeous pieces I’ve stumbled upon while searching for a buffet for the Dining Room. THE PROCESS FOR SOURCING ITEMS FOR A SPACE

When I’m working on a space, I’m sourcing nearly every aspect of the room. Not in all cases, but in some, it’s everything from flooring, paint color, tile, countertops, hardware, lighting, window treatments, rugs, furniture, linens, wall art & other accessories. Literally everything a room needs to be fully furnished!

I spend weeks, sometimes months scouring the internet looking for the perfect pieces. Making sure they align with my vision, are quality items that fall within budget, work with the other elements in the space and can arrive in ample time, especially if I’m participating in a challenge or have a brand campaign deadline. 

During this process I come dozens of products which eventually get narrowed down to a few favorites. And when I get down to my top contenders, I love to share which ones make the cut for the favorite list!

Today, I’m sharing some of the buffets and sideboards that caught my eye and were potential contenders for our Dining Room update.

Can you tell I’m extremely drawn to the slatted style? I love the ribbed look and the texture it brings to a space. I’ve been seeing the trend everywhere and I can’t get enough. I got these cocktail glasses for Christmas and love that they have this same vibe.

Newsflash: I’ve ordered one! Any guesses for which one I went with? 

You can see the buffet in my design board here, but I actually went with a black one. Our dining Room is on the narrow side and the wall I’m putting the buffet on is long, but the buffet needs to be shallow. The hunt for a shallow buffet or sideboard was a tricky one, but I did land on this one.

It seems to be just the right size for housing some table linens and serving pieces. As well as set a couple bottles of wine or dessert on top if we’re hosting a dinner party in here. The buffet is tiered so two sides are very shallow [under 12″] and the middle section is a bit bigger. Plus it has partially concealed shelves while the two ends have glass doors for showcasing pretty pieces.

This buffet is the color, size & shape I wanted and it is well under budget, so fingers crossed it passes my inspection upon arrival! I promise I’ll keep you posted!

DINING ROOM CHECKLIST

Let’s see what progress we’ve made so far:

• swap out light fixture – still narrowing done products
• hang curtain rods & panels – both ordered and on their way
• add dining chairs – ordered, waiting on shipment
• add a buffet to the main wall & style / accessorize – ordered! Should be here tomorrow 😉
• determine wall art / mirror for the wall – ???
• add a rug – still sourcing
• miscellaneous purchases / DIY projects:
