Dining Room Progress // New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge Week 3

Hello! We are in the final days of January’s New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge where all of the pieces to the puzzle are starting to come together to create the big picture. I keep reminding myself that it always gets worse before it gets better! Because the beauty is actually found in the process. Come and take a peek at where things stand just 2 weeks out from the Reveal. Today I’m sharing the Dining Room Progress for Week 3 of the New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge!

If you’re just stopping by, then welcome! I shared the design board for our Dining Room project to kick off the challenge and am so excited to get this next room project completed in our new home! Thanks to Stephanie at Casa Watkins Living for hosting another NYNR Challenge and giving me a reason to work on another room.

To stay up-to-date on this year’s challenge, be sure to follow along each Tuesday right here! All NYNR Refresh Challenge posts can be found here [this year & previous].

DINING ROOM PROGRESS // NEW YEAR, NEW ROOM REFRESH CHALLENGE WEEK 3

This week, it’s all about making check marks on the to-do list! I have nearly all aspects figured out and many have arrived, so it’s just a matter of getting them assembled or put in place.

Here’s a look at the original design from this post in case you missed it:

Now, let’s take a peek at the project punch list I set out to knock out by the end of the month!

DINING ROOM PROJECT TO-DO LIST:

  • swap out light fixture – still narrowing done products // MUST ORDER TODAY!
  • hang curtain rods & panels – panels are here and rods have been shipped / waiting on delivery
  • add dining chairsdelivered & assembled!
  • add a buffet to the main wall & style / accessorize – assembled & in place! // still need to style
  • determine wall art / mirror for the wall – in progress
  • add a rug – ordered, waiting on delivery
  • miscellaneous purchases / DIY projects:
    • _an unexpected DIY is potentially in the works – stay tuned! // working on this tomorrow
    • _swap out the legs on the buffet – working on today & tomorrow
    • ______________

Does it look like I’ve made it very far yet?!

The mess always indicates progress in my book. You should see the other side of the room with all of the shipping boxes and Styrofoam. Its quite a sight! I’m pretty sure if you stopped over, you’d be very concerned that I have a reveal coming up in 2 weeks. We did push the reveal out 1 week since so many of us are waiting on product shipments. But still! These next several days are critical!

I thought I’d show you some of the final product selections so you can start to get a visual and then appreciate it when you actually see them in the space.

We’ve had several items not work out, but I usually factor that in by ordering 2-3 options and then making my decision when I can see all of the elements of the space laid out together.

HERE ARE THE CHAIRS:

These were the second style I ordered and I love them. They are the perfect height and I adore the channel tufting and gold legs. I’m still working to find the host and hostess chairs, but for now I’ve got 6 of these and 2 more on their way.

THESE ARE THE CURTAIN PANELS:

I ordered another panel to compare, but ultimately stuck with my initial choice. The quality is great for the price and I love that they basically blend right in with my wall color. I can’t wait to get them hung up this week! I’m still waiting on a couple different curtain rod options scheduled to arrive by Thursday, so hopefully I can make a decision and then we can get them up on Friday.

YOU SAW THE BUFFET LAST WEEK:

So, while my main concern was finding a buffet that wasn’t too deep, I didn’t exactly realize how short this one was. I have an idea to raise it up a few inches and can’t wait to see how it looks.

You can see all of my buffet options & inspo in this post here.

HERE ARE MY RUG CHOICES:

I’m placing my rug order today, so wish me luck in making my decision!!

And then there are quite a few more miscellaneous elements that will pull the space together!
